Black River Industries (BRI) offers a countywide transportation system that is fully accessible to all elderly and disabled persons. BRI provides transportation, vocational, residential, and day services to persons with disabilities. In addition, the Taylor County Commission on Aging contracts with BRI to operate the Elderly Transportation Program, which affords low cost transportation to elderly county residents. A reciprocity agreement allows elderly and disabled passengers to access either system equally.
1. To provide the safe and timely delivery of passengers.
2. To provide a system that is as accessible as possible to all persons, whether ambulatory or non-ambulatory. Our system accepts all mobility devices including wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs and scooters, etc.
3. To network with surrounding counties and municipalities to improve the accessibility to affordable rural transportation for as many elderly and disabled persons as possible.
